The Agency for community rights realization (ACCR) was established with the law on promotion and protection of the rights of the members of the communities that are less than 20% of the population of the Republic of North Macedonia, adopted on July 17, 2008.

The main objective of the Agency for community rights realization is to enable greater integration of the members of the communities, which are equal citizens of the country, in all spheres of social life and at the same time preserving their ethnic and cultural characteristics.

The Agency reconciles its work with the work of the Secretariat for implementation of the Framework Agreement, the Directorate for development and promotion of education for the languages ​​of the communities (an entity within the Ministry of Education and Science) and the Directorate for affirmation and promotion of the culture of the members of the communities in the Republic of North Macedonia (an entity within the Ministry of Culture).

 

The Agency monitors the execution and the implementation of the activities related to the position, rights, obligations and development opportunities of the members of the communities.

 

The agency cooperates with non-governmental and other organizations that work in the area of promoting the rights of the members of the communities, as well as with the municipalities. By expressing their own opinion and suggestions the Agency participates in resolving the issues related to achieving the rights of the members of the communities.

 

The rights regulated by The Agency for community rights realization are: being entitled to education in their mother tongue, right to protect their cultural identity, right to form associations, right to employment, etc.

 

All nations have a historical destiny to live divided into more countries. That leads to the necessity of understanding the real value of the human and community rights.

 

The Agency for community rights realization officially started working on November 25, 2009.
